About The Position

The Maples is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for full-time and PRN shifts to join their team at The Maples Clinic in Baton Rouge, LA. The Maples is partnered with Beacon Behavioral Partners, a network of physician-driven psychiatric practices with over 25 years of experience in the behavioral health industry. Beacon manages administrative responsibilities, allowing practices to maintain clinical autonomy and focus on patient care. Beacon Behavioral Partners serves practices across Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas, offering access to a network of over 400 staff members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, mental health therapists, and recreational therapists. An experienced physician advisory board provides a supportive community for sharing best practices and insights.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Must have active Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Louisiana.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support.
  • Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an LPN experience in behavioral health care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including taking vital signs, administering medications, preparing patients for exams, collecting specimens, assisting with procedures, educating patients on self-care, and documenting patient information thoroughly; all while maintaining clear communication with the healthcare team and patients.
  • Participates in the planning, coordinating, and documenting of total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Accurately reports and records the client’s condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change.
  • Accurately monitor skin assessments with proper documentation and reporting of changes.
  • Completes, maintains, and documents accurate and relevant clinical notes.
  • Ensures timely and accurate clinical documentation for all nursing clinical services provided.
  • Participation in education, in-services, and other training and meetings as needed.
  • Facilitates appropriate nursing action(s) in response to administrative directives and a changing healthcare environment.
  • Ensures all MD orders are followed and documented accordingly during the assigned shift.
  • Manages medication administration, monitoring, and proper storage of medication and complies with all medication management policies and procedures.
