Licensed Practical Nurse
About The Position
This position is responsible for the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care. Examines patients and administers prescribed medications to facilitate healing and increase comfort. Nursing requires training and a license to care for patients. This role supports the nursing staff at Urology Partners. They are responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care, collection of ongoing patient response to care, and patient education. This position requires travel between Urology Partners locations at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland and Westlake, Ohio. Schedules will be made a month in advance.
Requirements
- Ability to travel between 2 locations: Fairview Hospital/Cleveland and Westlake (includes mileage reimbursement)
- High School graduate, or equivalent, preferred
- Certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Ohio
- Ability to administer injections, preferred
- Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
- 2 years of experience
- Prior experience in an outpatient urology or surgical setting, preferred
- Prior EMR experience, preferred
- At least 1 year of experience as a LPN/LVN, preferred
Responsibilities
- Record patient vital signs: pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height.
- Administer medications to patients and monitor the progress throughout the treatment.
- May administer injections or give treatments under direction of physician.
- Schedule or perform clinical procedures as directed.
- Prepare exam rooms for patient visits.
- Gather patient information and keep records updated with the relevant data.
- Maintain effective communication with the medical personnel, patient and patient’s family.
- Treat wounds, change wound dressings.
- Collecting samples from patients, which include blood and urine.
- They may also assist in doing some lab work.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Perform any other functions as required by management
- Travel between clinics as necessary, up to 50% of the time
