About The Position
Excel Staffing Solutions is seeking compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide nursing care at a Children's Detention Center. This is a unique opportunity to work with adolescents in a secure setting while making a positive impact on their health and well-being.
Requirements
- Current New York State LPN License
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Excellent communication and assessment skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Nice To Haves
- Correctional or behavioral health experience is a plus but not required
- New graduates with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing assessments and routine medical care
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor and document patient conditions
- Respond to medical concerns and emergencies
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, detention staff, and other healthcare providers
- Follow all facility policies, infection control standards, and nursing best practices
