About The Position

The Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides primary clinical support to providers, patients, and their families in an outpatient General Surgery clinic. The LPN assists with diagnosis and treatment, helps ensure continuity and quality of care by following up on diagnostic testing, and promotes a clean clinical environment. The role provides care to patients in the age range appropriate to the assigned clinical area. This is a full-time role scheduled for 40 hours per week, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on the day shift. New and experienced LPNs are welcome. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible candidates. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.

Requirements

Graduate from a specialty nursing training program.
Licensed Practical Nurse license.
Basic Life Support certification.
Communication, computer literacy, customer service, multitasking, and teamwork skills.

At least one year of nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, and vital signs; provide basic clinical information for the provider and prepare patients for examinations.
Provide direct clinical care as directed by the provider.
Assist the provider with minor surgical and diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork accurately and efficiently.
Execute and document ongoing patient communications as directed by the provider, prioritize communications to the provider, and respond to patient questions and requests.
Administer medications and vaccines, including intradermal medications and skin testing, under provider direction and within scope of practice.
Clean and set up examination and treatment rooms between cases; maintain required asepsis and ensure appropriate instruments, equipment, and patient preparation.
Follow up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing in the medical record.
Promote a clean environment and comply with organization policies and position-specific obligations.
