About The Position

Mountain Community Health Partnership (MCHP) is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its clinical team. The LPN provides nursing care to patients under the direction and supervision of Registered Nurses, Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants, in accordance with the North Carolina Nursing Practice Act. The LPN serves as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers to help ensure quality patient care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Valid LPN license in North Carolina.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Detail-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in medical/surgical nursing or a clinical setting is preferred.
• Bilingual ability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection, including patients’ chief complaints, allergies, medications, medical histories, and vital signs.
• Assess patient status on an ongoing basis and report changes to the supervising healthcare provider.
• Coordinate care by obtaining and tracking test results and consultation records.
• Participate in pre-planning and daily huddles to discuss patients scheduled for the day.
• Perform delegated nursing functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Administer medications, perform venipuncture for laboratory specimens, and assist in emergencies.
• Work cooperatively with team members and assist with their assignments.
