About The Position

Inova Loudoun Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This is a full-time day position. The LPN provides direct patient care using the nursing process under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, advanced practice provider, or licensed physician, and collaborates with the care team to support patients’ clinical and broader care needs.

Requirements

• Vocational or technical diploma in Practical Nursing.
• Licensed Practical Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior experience required.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience as an LPN or Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, advanced practice provider, or licensed physician.
• Collaborate with the Registered Professional Nurse on execution of patient plans.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to advocate for patients’ clinical, emotional, ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs.
• Monitor and report patient progress toward expected outcomes and deviations to the appropriate licensed clinician.
• Document patient care activities according to documentation standards and assist healthcare team members with documentation.
• Report changes in patient condition promptly to the registered professional nurse, advanced practice provider, or licensed physician and appropriate healthcare team members.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to clinical technicians or emergency medical technicians.
• Evaluate and maintain the patient care environment to promote safety.
• Administer prescribed medications, therapies, and treatments in accordance with practical nursing standards.
• Assist with patient education and discharge planning under the direction of the registered professional nurse, advanced practice provider, or licensed physician.
