About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse has responsibilities that include intake, processing of patients, simple patient treatment as directed by the professional staff. Under the direction of the OHW RN Coordinator, the LPN is responsible for the coordination of the health care services of injured employees of UVM Health Network-CVPH and contracted community employers. AHA-BLS certification is required however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
• AHA-BLS certification required within 6 months of hire or a current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to date of renewal.
• Ability to function as an integral part of a team.
• Excellent telephone skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Must be detail oriented and organized.
• Meets requirements of physical/pre-placement screening.
• Must obtain CAOHC Certification within 2 years of hire.
• Must obtain DOT Breath Alcohol Testing certification within 6 months of hire and maintain annual competency.
• Must obtain DOT Drug Screening certification within 6 months of hire and maintain annual competency.
• Must obtain Rapid Drug Screening Training within 6 months of hire and maintain annual competency.
• Must obtain Clinitek Training within 6 months of hire and maintain annual competency.

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) years previous medical office experience or primary care experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience preferred.
• Spirometry Certification preferred.
• Physical Abilities Certification preferred.
• Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Certification preferred.
