In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and under the supervision of the professional Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides skilled nursing care and administers medications to patients. This role involves participating in the nursing process, giving direct nursing care, and contributing to the patient's plan of care. The LPN will perform patient data collection, document care, administer medications and treatments, perform phlebotomy services, and evaluate patient responses to interventions. They will also recognize and report changes in patient condition, adhere to safety policies, delegate tasks appropriately, and comply with HIPPA and OSHA regulations. Infection control procedures are essential, and the LPN is accountable for the delivery of care for optimal patient outcomes.
