About The Position

In & Out Urgent Care is growing and seeking motivated and goal-oriented individuals to join their team. They are looking for PRN Licensed Practical Nurses to work 12-hour shifts during weekdays and 8-hour shifts on weekends, with flexibility to work at other urgent care locations when needed. The Licensed Practical Nurse works under the direction of a Provider and Clinical Director, assisting in healthcare delivery. They are multifunctional, performing clinical, back, and front office duties to provide patients with the best experience.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts during the week and 8 hour shifts on the weekend, including holiday hours as needed, rotating weekends and able to work at other locations when needed
  • Detailed oriented with excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read and write medical terminology
  • Great computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records
  • Current LPN licensure in Louisiana required
  • Current BLS certification required

  • One-year full-time employment as a LPN preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform functions that support / provide patient care
  • Works under the supervision of Clinical Director and Provider, performing duties such as taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medication, ensuring patient comfort, and reporting the status of their patients to the nurses
  • Triage, vital signs, injections, phlebotomy, IV’s, nebulizer treatments, EKG’s, wound dressings, assist provider with lacerations, I & D’s, Orthoglass splints, and pelvic exams
  • Prepare charts for patient appointments as indicated by the type of visit and the reason for the appointment according to established practices and procedures
  • Give medication as prescribed by the Provider
  • Basic wound care including cleaning and bandaging the injured area
  • Giving injections of medications and immunizations
  • Entering information into the electronic medical record
  • Ensure patients and their family members understand the release instructions
  • Assess patient’s reaction to medications
  • Prepare the exam rooms and treatment rooms for examination of the patient and set up for procedures.
  • Prepare charts and station records maintained which may include the following: Lab, x-ray and DME forms are prepared upon request, Medication refills are processed according to clinic protocols
  • Performing lab call backs
  • Facilitate timely and accurate flow of communication within the clinic/location
