About The Position

As an Outpatient Clinic LPN at Lawton Indian Hospital, you will provide direct nursing support in the ambulatory care setting – rooming and assessing patients, administering medications and immunizations, assisting with procedures, documenting in the electronic health record, and coordinating follow-up care for a diverse American Indian patient population. This is a steady daytime role with a predictable weekday schedule and real continuity with the patients you serve. Since this is an IHS facility, a license in OKLAHOMA is NOT required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited practical/vocational nursing program
  • Current, active, unrestricted LPN/LVN license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience
  • Outpatient or ambulatory clinic experience preferred
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience with electronic health records

Responsibilities

  • Room and assess patients, obtain vital signs, and document chief complaints in the electronic health record
  • Administer medications, injections, and immunizations within the LPN scope of practice
  • Assist providers with in-clinic examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, and specimen collection as ordered
  • Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
  • Triage patient calls and coordinate referrals, lab work, and follow-up appointments
  • Maintain clinic supplies, equipment, and exam rooms in accordance with infection control standards
