Caswell Developmental Center, serving as North Carolina's Eastern Region resource center, provides specialized residential, programmatic, and support services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Must be physically able to intervene when residents are displaying behaviors that may cause harm to themselves or others using CPI training.
  • Must possess excellent communication and organization skills for accurate scheduling ability.
  • Must be able to pass CPI and CPR
  • Have a valid North Carolina Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be knowledgeable of basic nursing skills as described by NC Nurse Practice Act for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Must be knowledgeable of disease processes, prevention measures, medications (use, drug interactions/adverse reactions), routine care, enhancing/protection of employees/residents’ health and well-being.
  • EPIC knowledge and experience is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling on and off campus appointments for residents
  • Managing appointment routing in EPIC and making changes as necessary
  • Sending all documentation to on campus nurses for off campus appointments
  • Arranging transportation to and from off campus appointments
  • Managing Psych, Neuro, and Urology on campus clinics
  • Scheduling drivers for off campus appointments
  • Managing monthly driver log for Logistics
  • Verifying any Prior Insurance Authorizations needed for off campus procedures
  • Scheduling mammograms and bone density with all required documentation
  • Managing all rescheduled appointments and documentation
  • Prioritizing phone calls and messages by priority
  • Assisting in Employee Health services such as Workman’s Comp, Incident reports, vaccinations, etc.
