What You Will Be Doing: Provide high quality care for up to ninety-one (91) assisted living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner. This position provides clinical and medication administration to residents and clinical support to the care teams. Focus will be on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of health care teams, and the promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes.

Requirements

  • Diploma or certificate from an accredited school in practical nursing and eligibility for licensure as a practical nurse with the State of Alaska.
  • Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.
  • Physical strength to lift, assist and transfer patients.
  • Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Nurse 1 with the State of Alaska; OR One year of entry level experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Candidates not currently licensed by the State of Alaska, who otherwise meet the eligibility requirements for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska and requisite qualifying experience, may apply for vacancies in this job class.
  • Positions require the successful applicant to pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting, as a prerequisite to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior service as a Nurse I, Corrections Nurse I, or Psychiatric Nurse I with the State of Alaska or its equivalent with another employer.
  • Combinations of prior training and experience as a Registered Nurse in other specializations of nursing care (e.g., Psychiatric, Corrections, Public Health, Critical Care, Surgical) will be evaluated for comparability on a case-by-case basis.
