About The Position

The Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) is seeking skilled and caring Licensed Practical Nurses to join their Behavioral Health Division. This role provides critical care and support to adult patients with mental illness at the Norfolk Regional Center (NRC). The NRC has a long history of serving adult males requiring inpatient psychiatric treatment and also provides treatment for individuals who have sexually offended through the Nebraska Sex Offender (SO) Treatment Program. Additionally, the Medical Support Program offers high-quality nursing and medical treatment for men with significant physical conditions, psychiatric issues, cognitive impairments, and aging-related concerns. The position offers a new starting pay rate of $40.00/hour plus additional facility and shift differential pay.

Requirements

A current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a licensed practical nurse in Nebraska is required.

Responsibilities

Medication administration
Documentation
Initiate therapeutic interactions with patients
Perform treatments
Transcribe doctor's orders
Evaluate physical health and emotional status of patients
Perform assigned patient education
Complete order entry
Supply inventory and ordering; use of electronic medical record.
Will be a contributing member of the interdisciplinary treatment team delivering holistic and individualized care to patients
