About The Position
The Neuro Cardiac Unit offers a challenging and varied environment for nurses. Nurses on this unit care for patients with a wide range of diagnoses including stroke, cardiac, renal, respiratory, and medical-surgical conditions. The unit also houses Gateway's central telemetry monitoring station and is a designated stroke unit within Deaconess Gateway's Certified Primary Stroke Center. This role is vital in caring for acute stroke patients and provides experience with telemetry, heart failure, COPD exacerbations, infections, and complex medical conditions. The diverse patient population ensures an engaging daily experience and helps nurses develop a broad and valuable skillset. This fast-paced environment is ideal for nurses looking to build confidence, expand expertise, and avoid routine.
Requirements
- Active Indiana LPN license or valid compact LPN license
Responsibilities
- Care for patients with stroke, cardiac, renal, respiratory, and medical-surgical diagnoses.
- Serve as the home of Gateway's central telemetry monitoring station.
- Care for acute stroke patients.
- Gain experience with telemetry, heart failure, COPD exacerbations, infections, and complex medical conditions.
- Deliver exceptional care to complex patients.
