Licensed Practical Nurse /Medical Assistant | Endocrinology | Day Shift | Full-time
About The Position
This role involves providing high-level, patient-centered care in a physician's office setting. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will focus on patient intake, including measuring vital signs, preparing patients for exams and procedures, and assisting healthcare providers. Responsibilities include administering medications, managing patient phone calls according to protocols, educating patients on health care and treatments, and reporting patient health status to providers. The Medical Assistant (MA) also provides patient care under the supervision of a physician, performing clinical duties within the scope of Florida Statutes and UFHP policy. MAs may also handle clerical, insurance, and medical record functions.
Requirements
- Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
- Graduate of an accredited course of study as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- Accredited MA certifications include, but are not limited to, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMCA, AAMA and AMT.
- EMT license can be used in lieu of an MA certification.
- Current Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida.
- Must possess and maintain current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant.
- AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment.
- Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
- Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire
Nice To Haves
- One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred (for LPN)
- One year of direct patient care experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred (for MA)
Responsibilities
