About The Position

We’re a small, community-focused practice where you’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and work alongside a supportive team that values compassion, collaboration, and quality care. In this role, you'll provide floor nursing support, room patients, assist with triage, and manage prior authorizations. Licensed Practical Nurse Overview: The Licensed Practical Nurse will focus on providing high level patient-centered care in a physician office setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, preparing patients for exams/procedures, assisting the health care provider with exams/procedures, providing patient support during exams, maintaining medical supply inventory, and stocking exam rooms. The LPN will also provide patient care by administering medications, processing patient phone calls per practice protocols, instructing patients regarding health care and treatments, and providing health care provider with information pertaining to patients' health status. Medical Assistant Overview: The Medical Assistant provides patient care in a physician's office setting under the direct responsibility of a licensed physician. Clinical skills performed are within the scope of a Medical Assistant as defined by Florida Statutes 458.3485 and UFHP Clinical Policy and Procedure. The MA may also perform clerical, insurance, and medical record functions. May be required to float to other practices, as needed, for staffing.

Requirements

  • Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
  • Graduate of an accredited course of study as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
  • Accredited MA certifications include, but are not limited to, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMCA, AAMA and AMT
  • EMT license can be used in lieu of an MA certification
  • Current Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
  • AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment
  • Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred (for LPN)
  • One year of direct patient care experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred (for MA)
