About The Position
This is a full-time, night shift position for a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Medical Surgical unit at Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph in Wichita, KS. The role involves delivering comprehensive bedside care, contributing to patient assessments, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and assisting with discharge planning and patient education.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
- High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive bedside care within the appropriate scope of practice.
- Contribute to the ongoing assessment of patient status and reporting findings promptly to the RN or Physician.
- Administer medication and maintain documentation.
- Perform essential laboratory tests and diagnostic clinical tasks as ordered.
- Assist in the coordination of discharge planning and patient/family education.
