About The Position

This role is for a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Medical Surgical department at Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph in Wichita, KS. The position is full-time, working day shifts. The nurse will deliver comprehensive bedside care, contribute to patient status assessments, administer medications, and assist with discharge planning and patient education.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive bedside care within the appropriate scope of practice.
• Contribute to the ongoing assessment of patient status and reporting findings promptly to the RN or Physician.
• Administer medication and maintain documentation.
• Assist in the coordination of discharge planning and patient/family education.
