About The Position

This position is part of the Eagle Mountain Assisted Living Management Team and supports the philosophy of Caring for the Whole Person. The LPN oversees the quality delivery of resident services and contributes to a resident-focused, high-performance work environment. This is a safety-sensitive job for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment.

Requirements

  • Current LPN license in good standing.
  • Experience in senior resident services.
  • Experience in staff supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated support for the five domains of health: physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and social.
  • Competency in medication supervision within state regulations.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Free from illegal drug use and free from the effects of drugs/alcohol in the workplace.
  • No history of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment of individuals in a healthcare setting.
  • Effective time-management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability as required by state law.
  • Enjoys working with seniors and accepts constructive feedback.
  • Ability to interact safely with residents who may be medically vulnerable.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete duties within allotted time.
  • Ability to define and solve problems, collect and interpret data, and follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with residents, families, staff, visitors, and volunteers.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment including computer, copier, and fax.
  • Ability to operate community vehicles as needed.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with residents and families to support adjustment to the community and identify needs or concerns.
  • Work closely with the RN and Resident Service Director to ensure accurate communication regarding resident status.
  • Serve as a Resident Assistant as required by staffing needs, performing resident-care tasks within LPN scope of practice.
  • Support a residential environment focused on Caring for the Whole Person.
  • Ensure implementation of community policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with state regulations.
  • Provide professional intervention in resident needs as indicated.
  • Assist in orienting new residents to the community.
  • Notify the Administrator of concerns related to residents, staff, or the community environment.
  • Meet with residents as needed to encourage communication and understand their needs.
  • Coordinate physician communications and visits; document all physician contact in the resident’s service record.
  • Provide departmental coverage as needed, including Resident Assistant duties.
  • Provide transportation for residents as needed.
  • Administers medications to residents in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and community policies, ensuring each resident receives the correct medication as prescribed.
  • Documents all medication administration, refusals, errors, and PRN effectiveness according to policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Reorders medications in a timely manner to prevent interruptions in treatment and maintains accurate medication inventory.
  • Communicates with physicians’ offices regarding medication orders, clarifications, changes, and resident needs.
  • Maintains all medications in the medication room, ensuring proper storage, organization, labeling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitors residents for medication side effects, adverse reactions, and changes in condition, reporting concerns promptly to the RN or Administrator.
  • Ensures compliance with all medication-related state regulations and community standards.
  • Follows all infection-control protocols and universal precautions.
  • Reports incidents, accidents, and unusual occurrences immediately and completes required documentation.
  • Participates in updating resident service plans based on observed changes in condition.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to support resident care plans.
  • Communicates changes in resident condition to families as appropriate and in accordance with policy.
  • Responds to medical emergencies and provides first aid or CPR within scope of practice until EMS arrives.
  • Demonstrates active listening, builds supportive relationships, treats others with dignity and respect, and seeks feedback.
  • Must exhibit patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and be understood by individuals with varying levels of cognitive impairment.
  • Attends or leads all required in-service training.
  • Assist in answering and forwarding incoming calls.
  • Provide community information when the Administrator is unavailable.
  • Greet and assist visitors.
  • Carry out special duties or projects as assigned.
