About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides direct and indirect patient care in Surgical Services with a focus on Peri-Anesthesia (Pre-Op / PACU support). Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), this role supports preoperative and postoperative patient care, ensuring patient safety, rapid recovery, and quality outcomes. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

  • IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date.
  • Work experience in health care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-op and post-anesthesia patient care in a surgical setting
  • Monitor vital signs, airway status, and recovery from anesthesia
  • Assist with medication administration, IV therapy, and blood draws
  • Support patient preparation for surgery and post-op recovery
  • Collaborate with RNs, anesthesiology, surgeons, and perioperative teams
  • Ensure patient safety, infection control, and surgical protocols
  • Document care in EMR/EHR systems
  • Communicate changes in patient condition promptly
