About The Position

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be responsible for performing medical assisting duties in a healthcare setting, under the direction of a licensed clinician. The LPN provides clinical support services including but not limited to direct clinician support, patient care functions, and administrative tasks. The LPN will process incoming and outgoing calls/messages in a professional manner, perform patient intake, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure consents are reviewed and completed by the clinician. The role also involves pre-encounter prep prior to patients visits, including identifying open care gaps, and supporting effective and professional communication with patients, family members, visitors, and colleagues. The LPN will gather patient data through interview and observation, assist the clinician during medical treatments, examinations, and procedures, and prepare patients for examination, perform and document vital signs, and record patients' health history and medication reconciliation. Additionally, the LPN will assist with arranging laboratory and/or other ancillary testing, perform duties and skills consistent with a trained certified medical assistant/registered medical assistant/nurse, and prepare and sanitize equipment, examination rooms and instruments. The role includes managing inventory of medical supplies and equipping exam rooms with appropriate supplies, embracing and participating in quality initiatives, goal attainment, and collaborating on clinical process improvement activities. The LPN will provide routine treatments and administer approved medication per clinician order within scope, and document patient data, treatments, procedures, and patient education per organizational policies. The LPN will assist the clinician by acting as a liaison on behalf of the patient to schedule appointments, provide patient with scheduling information to obtain testing, and/or clinician consultation, and maintain compliance with all policies and procedures. Demonstrates competency in specific tasks and skills as defined annually. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • LPN license in the State of Florida
