About The Position
Centurion Health is the provider of mental health and medical services for the Georgia Department of Corrections. They are seeking a Full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their day shift team at Dooly State Prison in Unadilla, GA. This role is suitable for nurses who prefer day hours, competitive pay, and a structured clinical environment, away from the typical hospital setting. The position offers a day shift schedule, clear policies and workflows, a dedicated security presence, and clear patient accountability. It also eliminates family or visitor interactions, reducing stress and distractions, and provides supportive nursing leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license | Compact (MSL) or Georgia (SL) | Must be active and valid
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or BLS | Must be active
- Ability to obtain security clearance via the GADOC, this may include drug screen and criminal background check
Responsibilities
- Provide holistic nursing care within the appropriate scope of practice to incarcerated patients.
- Work under the direction of Registered Nurses (RN) and medical and psychiatric staff.
- Respond to a range of physical and behavioral health needs.
- Deliver safe, ethical, and evidence-based nursing care.
- Follow established safety, security, and infection control protocols.
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes appropriately.
- Collaborate with medical, mental health, and custody teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
