About The Position

Northwest Center for Behavioral Health (NCBH) is recruiting for compassionate, dedicated behavioral health professionals to join the Urgent Recovery Center in Enid, Oklahoma. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will work as part of a multi-discipline team providing short-term crisis response, stabilization, and intervention for individuals experiencing a mental health or chemical dependency crisis. This program serves as an alternative to the Emergency Room for those needing urgent, same-day intervention. The LPN performs technical direct and indirect nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed physician, including vital signs monitoring and other nursing tasks. The Urgent Recovery Center offers up to 24 hours of crisis intervention and related services, aiming to reduce recidivism and connect individuals with community partners. The role may involve participation in the Comprehensive Crisis Response System on the Mobile Crisis Team, responding to 988 calls. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to work overnight shifts.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
  • Three (3) years of practical nursing experience (for Level III).
  • One (1) year of practical nursing experience (for Level II).
  • Must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
  • Must possess a US driver’s license.
  • Must submit to a physical examination and meet the requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and being able to pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Performing technical direct and indirect nursing care for individuals under the supervision or direction of a registered nurse or licensed physician.
  • Taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and various other technical nursing tasks in providing health care to patients.
  • Providing up to 24 hours of crisis intervention and related services.
  • Working as part of the Comprehensive Crisis Response System on the Mobile Crisis Team and responding when deployed by the 988 call center and facility.
  • Ensuring facility safety during overnight hours.
