This full-time position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Lexington Float Pool Tier 1, working day shifts. The role requires specialized knowledge and clinical skills to provide care for patients with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses. Responsibilities include performing nursing care for patient comfort and well-being, administering medications, assisting with admissions and discharges, assisting physicians with rounds or procedures, performing infusion of various intravenous products, and managing IV therapy. The LPN will also prepare IV fluids, change IV tubing, administer IV medications, change dressings, perform venipuncture, discontinue IV therapy, administer blood/blood products under RN supervision, observe and document injection site conditions, assist with complex sterile procedures, and potentially perform charge nurse or team leader duties. The role involves documenting observations, treatments, and patient responses, assisting the RN with treatment plan development, and reporting patient care conditions accurately. The position requires understanding and speaking fluent English, and having intact senses, finger dexterity, critical thinking, and the ability to concentrate. The LPN must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions.
