About The Position

Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is seeking dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join the medical department at the Fulton County Jail in Johnstown, NY. This role involves managing healthcare emergencies, conducting physical health assessments, performing initial screenings, distributing medications, managing nurse sick call, and running chronic care clinics. LPNs will also support physicians, psychiatrists, and dentists. The position offers a 2-week on-the-job training and shadowing orientation period.

Requirements

Active LPN license in the state the facility is located
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

Providing comprehensive nursing care and ensuring the proper flow of relevant information to appropriate personnel.
Maintaining, updating, and securing electronic medical records.
Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Conducting sick call for patients and providing treatment for illnesses and injuries as defined by written protocol and approved by the Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. Medical Director.
Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmates/patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of care.
Recording, retrieving, and filing medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.
