About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the 1 East Ortho Spine Bariatrics Unit. This is a Full Time, third shift position. The LPN functions under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) and demonstrates professional and clinical knowledge relative to their designated clinical practice setting. They work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting and communicating effectively with other licensed independent practitioners. The LPN manages workload responsibilities with accuracy, provides excellent customer service, performs testing, medication administration, and implements nursing interventions and care plans to support a holistic approach to patient care. The LPN serves as a patient advocate in the prevention of illness or disease.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of practice
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
  • Trade School Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing Program (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Acute care nursing experience preferred
  • Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred

Responsibilities
