Requirements

  • Current LPN License in State of operations.
  • LPN Diploma & State License Required.
  • Working knowledge of Google Products.
  • Current LPN License.
  • BLS, AED.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate patient withdrawal, and execute appropriate medication detox protocols.
  • Administer prescribed medications and provide patient education.
  • Assess signs and symptoms of withdrawal to provide safe, medically managed detox.
  • Monitor the effects of administered medications and document accurately.
  • Report and document medication errors, pharmacy errors, packaging errors, and medication count concerns.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments using COWS & CIWAS based on patient condition and re-prioritize care.
  • Maintain accurate narcotic control inventories and documentation related to medication administration.
  • Promote patient independence by establishing care goals, teaching patients about their condition, medications, and self-care, and answering questions.
  • Ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals, making adjustments, and following State Board of Nursing and other governing agency regulations.
  • Resolve patient problems and needs using multidisciplinary team strategies, including de-escalation techniques.
  • Document patient care services by charting in EMR.
  • Maintain continuity among teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results.
  • Participate in the onboarding of new nurses for medication administration.
  • Communicate pertinent patient data and conduct medication counts at the end of the shift.
  • Treat patients and colleagues with dignity and respect, maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Respond appropriately to all codes related to emergency situations.
  • Arrive to work on time and adhere to attendance policies.
