About The Position

Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is seeking dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for per-diem evening shifts in the medical department at the Allegany County Jail in Belmont, NY. The role involves managing healthcare emergencies, conducting physical health assessments, initial screenings, distributing medications, running nurse sick call, and managing chronic care clinics. LPNs will also support physicians, psychiatrists, and dentists. The position includes a 2-week on-the-job training and shadowing orientation period.

Requirements

Active LPN license in the state of New York
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

Providing comprehensive nursing care and ensuring proper dissemination of information to appropriate personnel.
Maintaining, updating, and securing electronic medical records.
Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Conducting sick call for patients and providing treatment for illnesses and injuries as defined by written protocol approved by the Medical Director.
Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmates/patients.
Participating in the formulation of the plan of care.
Recording, retrieving, and filing medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.
