About The Position
McIver Clinic, a urological care provider in Jacksonville since 1921 with multiple locations and over 27 providers, is seeking a dependable and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for their office-based surgery center. This role involves providing nursing care and support to patients before and after outpatient procedures, collaborating with providers and the healthcare team.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
- Current, active Florida LPN license in good standing.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in pre-procedure care, post-procedure recovery, perioperative nursing, procedural nursing, or outpatient surgery.
- Urology nursing experience.
- Two years of relevant nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Complete pre-procedure nursing assessments and review patient information, medications, allergies, and required documentation.
- Obtain and document vital signs and other required information.
- Prepare patients for scheduled procedures and provide pre-procedure instructions and support.
- Assist with IV access and administer medications as permitted by applicable requirements, provider orders, and organizational policies.
- Work closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
- Monitor patients during the recovery period following outpatient procedures.
- Monitor vital signs, comfort, pain, and overall patient condition.
- Communicate changes or concerns regarding a patient's condition to the appropriate healthcare provider.
- Provide patients and caregivers with post-procedure instructions and education.
- Assist with the discharge process according to established procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.
- Follow established infection prevention, safety, and clinical procedures.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Assist with daily clinical and administrative activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
