Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Full Time (PMs & Nights)
About The Position
Hartgrove Behavioral Health System is a 160-bed leading psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing quality behavioral health services for its diverse population of children, adolescents and adults. Hartgrove Behavioral Hospital is looking for a dynamic Licensed Practical Nurses to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing nursing practice on the unit, including the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, and activities of daily living. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Hartgrove Behavioral Hospital.
Requirements
- Graduate of a licensed practical nursing program.
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Illinois.
- BLS Provider certification through the American Heart Association.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Physical agility to manage patients with crisis prevention interventions.
- Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.
- Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including children, adolescents and adults.
Nice To Haves
- One-year prior experience in inpatient psychiatric mental health nursing preferred.
- Prefer knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training.
