Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility. The role assesses resident needs, develops individualized care plans, administers and evaluates nursing care, and supervises nursing assistants and other personnel involved in care delivery. Care and supervision must comply with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and support the highest degree of quality care. The nurse follows health, sanitation, and infection-control policies and the community’s established standards of practice and Nursing Policies and Procedures.
Requirements
- Possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN in the state of employment.
- Possess current CPR certification.
- Have basic computer skills and the ability to navigate software programs, including electronic health record software.
Responsibilities
- Assess residents’ needs.
- Develop individualized care plans.
- Administer nursing care and evaluate the care provided.
- Supervise nursing assistants and other personnel in the delivery of nursing care.
- Follow applicable standards, guidelines, regulations, health and sanitation policies, infection-control policies, and established nursing procedures.
