About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct, quality clinical care to residents and supervises nursing assistants working with residents assigned to each unit. The role includes observing and evaluating residents’ physical and emotional status, responding to changes or emergencies, providing holistic care within the scope of the LPN license, monitoring supplies, and completing necessary administrative documentation.

Requirements

• Must have and maintain a current, valid state LPN license.
• Current, valid CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Visit residents on the assigned unit daily to observe and evaluate their physical and emotional status, and report changes in condition to the charge nurse, physician, and/or Director of Nursing.
• Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate immediate lifesaving measures when a physician is absent.
• Provide holistic resident care within the scope of the LPN license.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of medications, medical supplies, and equipment to ensure adequate supplies are available for residents.
• Complete administrative duties as necessary, including medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
• Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Supervise nursing assistants working with residents assigned to each unit.
