About The Position

Lutheran Haven is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the second/night shift (11 AM - 7 PM) in Oviedo, FL. This full-time role involves providing hands-on nursing care, creating a safe and supportive environment for residents, and coordinating resident care under the direction of the Resident Care Coordinator. The LPN will also support staff, maintain accurate records, and ensure adherence to safety and infection-control practices.

Requirements

  • Current Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • At least one year of verifiable, successful clinical experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • A team-oriented approach and a commitment to providing quality care to older adults.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a geriatric or rehabilitation setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lutheran Haven’s Mission and Ministry through daily work and interactions.
  • Build positive working relationships with residents and coworkers.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and encouragement to staff.
  • Visit individual residents three times per week to identify needs, respond to concerns, and communicate requests.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Assisted Living Facility, including employee supervision and resident care.
  • Provide and receive shift reports.
  • Complete initial rounds at the start of the shift and remain attentive to residents’ needs.
  • Promptly notify the supervisor or administrator on call of any situation requiring immediate attention.
  • Provide personal hygiene, preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services.
  • Coordinate medical care with other healthcare disciplines.
  • Complete admissions for new residents by assessing needs and reviewing physician orders.
  • Order medications, supplies, and equipment as prescribed.
  • Assist residents with self-administration of prescribed medications and perform approved nursing procedures.
  • Maintain the security of all medications, including narcotics.
  • Arrange and coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic services.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation regarding residents’ care, condition, and treatment in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Accurately enter information from physician orders and medication records into the pharmacy Medication Observation Record upon resident discharge or transfer.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
