About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care within the scope of practice established by the Alabama Board of Nursing. Working under the supervision of physicians and the Director of Nursing, the LPN assists with medical services and supports the delivery of quality patient care while helping achieve organizational goals and objectives. Requirements

  • Current State of Alabama LPN License required.
  • One (1) year of experience as an LPN in a primary care setting required.
  • Must possess certification of “Mandatory Reporter Training” or obtain certification during the first week of employment.
  • Must maintain current professional licensure in Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain licensure within ninety (90) days of date of hire.
  • Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
  • Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
  • Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
  • Proficient in electronic health records (EHRs), Microsoft Office, and other computer applications.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, professionalism, and commitment to quality patient care.
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and complete assignments efficiently.
  • Skilled in obtaining vital signs and performing nursing duties within the Alabama Board of Nursing scope of practice.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with patient screening, preparation, examinations, and follow-up care.
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and adequately stocked treatment areas following infection control standards.
  • Administer immunizations, perform medication reconciliation, and provide patient education.
  • Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and patient communication regarding testing and treatment plans.
  • Support provider scheduling and help ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.
  • Participate in clinic huddles, community health initiatives, and quality documentation requirements.
  • Maintain required competencies, continuing education, and compliance with nursing standards, clinic policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
