About The Position
Premiere Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a position in the Emergency Department at an award-winning hospital partner in Lewiston, Maine. This is a 12-week assignment with available shifts for both days and nights. The role involves delivering bedside care in a high-volume emergency setting, monitoring patients, assisting with treatments, and collaborating with the healthcare team. Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required
- IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification required
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- One (1) year ED experience required
Responsibilities
- Deliver bedside care in a high-volume emergency setting
- Monitor vital signs, patient condition, and acuity changes
- Assist with medication administration, IV therapy, and blood draws
- Support trauma, triage, and emergency interventions
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and care teams
- Ensure patient safety, infection control, and ED protocols
- Document care in EMR/EHR systems
- Communicate changes in condition quickly and accurately
