About The Position
Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a new, state-of-the-art facility serving adult and geriatric patients. As a joint venture with Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care through caring, dedicated, and valued staff. We are seeking high-caliber applicants to provide innovative, evidence-based care focused on patient needs, comfort, and safety. This is a full-time day shift position with a $4,000.00 Sign-On Bonus and Student Loan Repayment eligibility.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
- Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory and practice.
- Demonstrated clinical competency in providing general nursing care.
- Current LPN Licensure in the State of Michigan Required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous psychiatric clinical experience desired.
Responsibilities
- Carries out daily routines of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and House Supervisor.
- Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and the patient’s treatment plan.
- Participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
- Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint, under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Partners with RN with patient admissions and discharges.
- Administers medication and treatments to patients.
- Assists with medication education, informed consent and monitoring the effectiveness and efficacy of medications.
- Documents the administration of medications and treatments according to policies and procedures.
