Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
About The Position
Katahdin Health Care, a family-owned business since 1973 and now a partnership between Ross Care and First Atlantic Healthcare, provides quality care to the elderly in Millinocket, Maine, and surrounding communities. Our 36-bed facility, including 12 Memory Care beds, offers a range of services such as long-term care, skilled care, and physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Under the ownership of First Atlantic Healthcare, Katahdin Skilled Nursing upholds a reputation for excellence in Long Term Care. Opportunities are available for LPNs of all experience levels, including new graduates.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Currently licensed as an LPN in Maine.
Responsibilities
- Monitor resident’s vitals and record them in their file
- Maintain the cleanliness and comfort of each resident, including bathing, feeding and dressing
- Assist nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks, such as administering medication
- Update resident records in a confidential manner
- Evaluate the resident’s wellbeing, reporting any needs to medical staff
- Explain treatments and procedures to resident and families
- Change dressings and bandages, ensuring residents are healing properly
- Move residents from wheelchairs, beds and gurneys
