About The Position

Northwest Center for Behavioral Health (NCBH) is recruiting for compassionate, dedicated behavioral health professionals to join their team. This role involves working as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within a multi-disciplinary team at the Urgent Recovery Center in Enid, Oklahoma. The center provides short-term crisis response, stabilization, and intervention for individuals experiencing mental health or chemical dependency crises. This program serves as an alternative to the Emergency Room for those needing urgent, same-day intervention. The LPN will perform direct and indirect nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician, including taking vital signs and performing other technical nursing tasks. The Urgent Recovery Center offers up to 24 hours of crisis intervention and related services, aiming to reduce recidivism and connect individuals with community partners. The role may also involve participation in the Comprehensive Crisis Response System and deployment by the 988 call center as part of a Mobile Crisis Team. The position is specifically noted as being ideal for those who prefer working overnight hours.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
  • For Level III: Three (3) years of practical nursing experience.
  • For Level II: One (1) year of practical nursing experience.
  • Must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
  • Must possess a US driver’s license to perform job-related travel if necessary.
  • Applicants for safety-sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs.
  • Applicants must submit to a physical examination and meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and be able to pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Performing technical direct and indirect nursing care for individuals under the supervision or direction of a registered nurse or licensed physician.
  • Taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and various other technical nursing tasks in providing health care to patients.
  • Providing up to 24 hours of crisis intervention and related services for individuals needing behavioral health services.
  • Working as part of the Comprehensive Crisis Response System on the Mobile Crisis Team and responding when deployed by the 988 call center and facility.
  • Ensuring the safety of facilities during overnight hours.
