About The Position
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team in Bella Coola. This role involves working as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, performing full scope of practical nursing functions for clients with predictable outcomes. The LPN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting client care, as well as providing support to clients and their families. In cases of unpredictable outcomes or complex care needs, the LPN will assist the Registered Nurse. The position requires maintaining and advancing clinical competence according to BCCNM standards. Requirements
- Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.
- Ability to communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Work independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team performs full scope of practical nursing functions as outlined by BCCNM for clients with predictable outcomes within a designated area of specialty.
- Perform activities such as assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting client care and providing support to clients and their families.
- Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team and under general supervisions assists the Registered Nurse in caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes or where the acuity or complexity of care requires an advanced level of knowledge and skill beyond the scope of practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Maintain and advances clinical competence pursuant to the standards of practice of BCCNM.
