About The Position

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg is seeking a Clinic LPN to join their Urology Clinic team. This role is crucial in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, performing interventions, administering medication, documenting care, and assisting with patient daily living activities. The LPN will also play a role in scheduling appointments and obtaining insurance re-authorizations. This position is part of Lifepoint Health's mission to make communities healthier.

Requirements

  • Current Tennessee or compact state LPN license.
  • Graduate of a Practical Nursing program.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 7 days of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • One-year previous experience preferred.
  • LPN License for the State of Tennessee.
  • Graduate of a Practical Nursing program.

Responsibilities

  • As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
  • May administer medication.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Assists RN with development of plan of care.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
  • Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.
