About The Position

Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for its Telemetry team. This full-time position involves 3x12-hour shifts during the day. The role is part of Lifepoint Health, a network committed to employee well-being and community health. The Telemetry unit is a 21-bed unit with a supportive, team-oriented culture, featuring self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and an every-other-weekend rotation. Nurses on this unit gain experience with a diverse patient population, including those undergoing cardiology procedures, telemetry monitoring, and pre/post cardiac cath care, working alongside experienced leaders and an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Current state LPN license.
• Active North Carolina LPN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree preferred but not required.
• One year of experience preferred (Telemetry or Cardiac)

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
