Requirements

Graduate of an accredited LPN school of nursing with one year of experience in the administration of medication or in a substance abuse treatment, psychiatric setting, or long term care facility including the dispensing of narcotic medication.
Valid Driver's License
Must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of medications commonly prescribed in mental health and substance abuse treatment.
Strong understanding of supportive counseling practices and the behavioral characteristics of individuals facing these challenges.

Responsibilities

Assisting the staff psychiatrist with the prescription, administration, and monitoring of client medications.
Performing routine physical and mental health nursing assessments.
Administering prescribed medications.
Providing supportive counseling to enhance clients’ recovery journey.
Monitoring clients' medical needs.
Conducting drug testing and other medical screenings.
Ensuring compliance with regulations regarding controlled substances.
Maintaining accurate client medical records.
