The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Orthopedics will prepare and room patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and documenting pertinent health information. This role involves performing laboratory procedures, assisting physicians with procedures and surgeries, and administering medications under physician/provider orders. The LPN will also initiate, maintain, and discontinue IV therapy with limitations, provide basic patient education, and follow through with necessary requests such as prescription refills and appointment scheduling. They will refer questions to registered nurses and physicians per scope of practice and communicate accurately and timely with the healthcare team. Advanced clinical tasks, organization of exam rooms, and patient care initiatives are also key responsibilities. This position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles.
