About The Position

This is a full-time, regularly-statused LPN position that offers a 10-12 week paid Perioperative LPN Program. This program is designed to teach LPNS the scrub role in the Operating Room with the expectation of a long-standing career in an OR setting. The program includes classroom lecture, skill development during mock surgeries, and precepted clinical experiences. Following successful program completion, orientation and training continues as you gain knowledge and skills in other clinical OR specialties. The next class starts July 13th.

Requirements

• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse IV certification required (unit depending).
• BLS cert.
• Completion of accredited practical nurse program or currently enrolled in nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.
• Provide patient care/function in a primary scrub position
• Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures
• Assure appropriate instruments/supplies are present and in proper working condition
• Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field
• Perform other duties which support the operative team, includes following patient care hand off protocol
• Actively participate in the quality improvement process.
• Involved in learning and self-improvement
