Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Medical/Surgical Job Type: Part Time Day Shift (12 Hours) with every third weekend Commitment Bonus of $10,000 (2 years) Who We Are: People are our passion and purpose. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required with a current unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse License in Iowa or from a Compact State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Recent RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year med/surg nursing experience

Responsibilities

  • Providing nursing care for acutely ill patients.
  • Performing assigned procedures that are within the scope of practice as set forth by the Iowa State Board of Nursing.
  • Collecting data for analysis by an RN.
  • Performing plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medication.
  • Documenting patient care provided.
  • Assisting RN with development of plan of care.
  • Assisting patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Monitoring, documenting, and communicating patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and family.
  • Advocating for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participating in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Providing quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
  • Maintaining regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
