About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is continuously responsible for providing professional nursing services and non-professional services as directed. This role is directly responsible for performing patient care functions according to established standards, policies, and procedures. The LPN will work 12-hour shifts from 7pm to 7am on a rotating schedule of 7 shifts on and 7 shifts off.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a course for LPN.
  • Licensed as an LPN.
  • CPR update.

Nice To Haves

  • Work Experience is desirable but not essential.
  • IV Therapy course is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing services and non-professional services as directed.
  • Perform patient care functions according to established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain good working relationships and cooperate with all departments.
  • Keep all information confidential and maintain patient privacy.
  • Act in a professional manner and follow the dress code.
  • Maintain a good attendance record and current health record.
  • Keep up-to-date in the field of Nursing, including CPR updates and current licensure.
  • Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating individual patient care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, utilizing the 5 R's and proper procedures.
  • Observe and record patient reactions to medications and treatments.
  • Count narcotics each shift 100% of the time and report errors promptly.
  • Apply proper techniques (aseptic, isolation, sterile).
  • Assist with physician rounds and dressings.
  • Record verbal orders and instructions, ascertaining physician's expectations.
  • Administer IV therapy and assist RN in monitoring blood, following strict identification procedures.
  • Admit patients, assemble charts, make assessments, and collect data.
  • Provide patient personal care, comfort, and safety, including assistance with meals, hygiene, ambulation, exercise, and massages.
  • Collect specimens as ordered and label them properly.
  • Keep intake and output, take vital signs, check level of consciousness, and monitor patients' condition.
  • Observe for skin condition, bleeding, and post-operative changes, reporting significant symptoms and changes.
  • Discharge patients, disassemble charts, and perform necessary functions, including providing prescriptions or instructions.
  • Complete discharge summaries and sign 100% of the time.
  • Maintain equipment, check for malfunctions, and report to supervisor.
  • Perform cleaning duties as necessary.
  • Complete assignments by planning work to be finished at the designated time.
  • Perform other nursing-related duties and rotate to other areas as needed.
  • Do whatever it takes to get the job done as long as it is legal, ethical, and moral.
