Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Med Surg PRN

About The Position
This Acute Care position includes a mix of Med/Surg and Telemetry patients. The typical staffing ratio is 1:6. Meditech experience is preferred. A minimum of 36 hours per week is required, including every other weekend.
Requirements
- Current VA or compact state LPN license.
- Graduate of a practical school of nursing.
- AHA BLS certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Meditech experience preferred.
- Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
- Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medication.
- Documents patient care provided.
- Assists RN with development of plan of care.
- Assists patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Monitors, documents, and communicates patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and family.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
