The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will work in collaboration with physicians, Nurse Practitioners (NP), Registered Nurses (RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPN) and other members of the interdisciplinary team to deliver an injectable opioid agonist treatment (iOAT) and tablet iOAT (TiOAT) program for individuals with Opioid Use Disorder. The LPN practices within the context of a client and family-centred care model and in accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM) scope of practice and standards and the mission, vision, values and policies/guidelines of the organization. Works collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team with a focus on clients with stable and/or predictable states of health. This includes activities such as assessing, implementing, evaluating and documenting care according to established care plans. Works with the RN/RPN, Medical Health Officer, Physician or NP in caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes or where the acuity or complexity of care requires a level of knowledge and skill beyond the scope of practice for LPNs. Maintains and advances clinical competence pursuant to the standards of practice of BCCNM for LPNs.
