About The Position

Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for their Inpatient Rehabilitation unit. This is a full-time night position with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts. The unit has 20 beds and nurses work closely with Physical Therapists (PTs) and Occupational Therapists (OTs). The LPN will provide direct patient care under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse (RN), contributing to patient assessments, performing interventions, and assisting with daily living activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Current LPN license in state of NC

Responsibilities

• As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care to patients in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
