About The Position

The Cardiology LPN assists the providers with diagnostic studies as well as all clinical care of patients; to include assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Will also have general responsibilities to assist in the day-to-day clinical operations of the office.

Requirements

One year of related experience.
Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.
Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse or Multistate Nursing License
Healthcare Provider (CPR) or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
BLS required within 30 days of hire.
Basic computer knowledge
Minimum of one year nursing experience.

Critical care experience preferred.

Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives.
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
Communicates effectively with patients and management regarding service recovery opportunities.
Works together with other team members to achieve Office and System customer service goals.
Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties.
Participates in continuing education.
Participates in the development of new programs (ex: Process Improvement, Quality Initiatives).
Demonstrates competency in patient care.
Maintain patient's safe passage in and out of the clinic, and ancillary services.
Greet, assess and interview patients.
Review present medications, allergy history, chief complaint, and brief interrogation of complaint.
Update medication list and current problem list.
Obtain past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, vital signs.
Anticipate needs of patients, and the doctor under whom I work.
Prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment, or procedure by medical staff.
Monitoring of patient during examination, or procedure.
Administers injections, performs phlebotomy and/or lab testing, etc. as directed by provider.
Obtains referrals and pre-certifications as necessary.
Acts as a liaison between provider and patient.
Explains medications, side effects, treatments, diets, diseases and disease processes.
Supplies patients with medication samples as instructed by provider.
Communicates with patients over the telephone, provides tests results, answers questions, responds to messages in a timely manner, and provides clear documentation of this communication in the patient's record.
Monitors diagnostic tests therapy including but not limited to EKG's, ABI's, EECP, holter and event monitors and stress tests.
Maintains strict confidentiality.
Maintains working knowledge of medical equipment and removes faulty equipment from use as necessary.
Participates in safety programs.
Works well with others and functions as a team player.
Offers ideas and solutions for issues that affect the team and work area.
Stocking and ordering of supplies as needed.
Maintains patient care areas.
Participates in the training and skills development of new LPN's and/or medical assistants.
Assists in other areas of the office as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program.
Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
