About The Position

The Cardiology LPN assists the providers with diagnostic studies as well as all clinical care of patients; to include assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Will also have general responsibilities to assist in the day-to-day clinical operations of the office.

Requirements

  • One year of related experience.
  • Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.
  • Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse or Multistate Nursing License
  • Healthcare Provider (CPR) or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • BLS required within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Minimum of one year nursing experience.

  • Critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and management regarding service recovery opportunities.
  • Works together with other team members to achieve Office and System customer service goals.
  • Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties.
  • Participates in continuing education.
  • Participates in the development of new programs (ex: Process Improvement, Quality Initiatives).
  • Demonstrates competency in patient care.
  • Maintain patient's safe passage in and out of the clinic, and ancillary services.
  • Greet, assess and interview patients.
  • Review present medications, allergy history, chief complaint, and brief interrogation of complaint.
  • Update medication list and current problem list.
  • Obtain past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, vital signs.
  • Anticipate needs of patients, and the doctor under whom I work.
  • Prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment, or procedure by medical staff.
  • Monitoring of patient during examination, or procedure.
  • Administers injections, performs phlebotomy and/or lab testing, etc. as directed by provider.
  • Obtains referrals and pre-certifications as necessary.
  • Acts as a liaison between provider and patient.
  • Explains medications, side effects, treatments, diets, diseases and disease processes.
  • Supplies patients with medication samples as instructed by provider.
  • Communicates with patients over the telephone, provides tests results, answers questions, responds to messages in a timely manner, and provides clear documentation of this communication in the patient's record.
  • Monitors diagnostic tests therapy including but not limited to EKG's, ABI's, EECP, holter and event monitors and stress tests.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Maintains working knowledge of medical equipment and removes faulty equipment from use as necessary.
  • Participates in safety programs.
  • Works well with others and functions as a team player.
  • Offers ideas and solutions for issues that affect the team and work area.
  • Stocking and ordering of supplies as needed.
  • Maintains patient care areas.
  • Participates in the training and skills development of new LPN's and/or medical assistants.
  • Assists in other areas of the office as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program.
  • Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
